1641: "The political position of Anholt had not yet been settled in 1650. This seigniory also lay on the border of the Zutphen quarter of Gelderland and since 1641 was the property of the counts of Salm, who considered it an imperial fief...." (Frijhoff & Spies, 2004, p. 86)
